Good news for employees, 3 types of facilities will be available in the new salary account.

The new salary bank account for central employees has three main sections – banking, insurance and cards. Zero balance salary account with advanced banking facilities, checking facility with free RTGS/NEFT/UPI; Concessional loans for housing, education, vehicle and personal need; Waiver in loan processing fees; and discount on locker rent. The salary account itself will have inbuilt term life insurance protection up to Rs 20 lakh and additional top-up facility to increase the insurance coverage at an affordable premium. Comprehensive health insurance coverage for employee and family consisting of a base plan and additional top-up facility. Also, better benefits like airport lounge access, rewards program and cashback offers will be given on debit and credit cards. Mediclaim AYUSH Insurance Policy for CGHS beneficiaries The government has announced the launch of a complete Mediclaim AYUSH insurance for the beneficiaries of Central Employees and Pensioners’ Health Service Scheme (CGHS), which will soon be made available through New India Assurance and digital platforms. This scheme will provide cashless facility, modern treatment and cost of hospitalization. Being provided with a big network. This policy is available exclusively for CGHS beneficiaries, with a maximum of six members per policy. It offers indemnity-based in-patient hospitalization coverage within the country, with sum insured options up to Rs 10 lakh or Rs 20 lakh. The scheme will have a co-payment component which will include a payment arrangement between the beneficiary and the insurance company on a 70:30 or 50:50 basis. This policy will soon be available at New India Assurance Company Limited’s offices and online platforms. The room rent for general hospital rooms and ICU is capped at one and two per cent per day of the sum insured respectively and offers 30 days of pre-hospitalization coverage and 60 days of post-hospitalization coverage. AYUSH treatments will be covered up to 100 per cent of the sum insured for in-patient hospitalization. Modern treatment has been limited to 25 percent of the sum insured. An optional rider has been placed for 100 percent modern treatment coverage. There is a 10 percent cumulative bonus for every claim-free year.
