Trump’s threat! If we make a trade agreement with China, I will impose 100 percent tariff.

Washington. US President Donald Trump has now warned Canada that if it extends the trade agreement with China, the US will impose 100 percent tariffs on all incoming goods. In response, Canadian PM Mark Carney also hit back and appealed to his countrymen to buy goods made in Canada and strengthen local industries.
This warning of Trump has come at a time when Canadian PM Mark Carney had recently visited China. During this visit, an agreement was reached between the two countries, under which Canada decided to reduce the tax imposed on Chinese electric vehicles. In return, China agreed to reduce taxes on Canadian agricultural products. Trump became even more enraged after this agreement. He wrote on the platform Truth Social that if Canada becomes a way to send Chinese goods to America, America will never accept it.
Trump also said that if Canada made a deal with China, China could gradually harm Canada’s business, society and lifestyle. He clearly said that as soon as this happens, America will impose 100 percent tariff on all Canadian products. Relations between America and Canada have been deteriorating ever since Trump became President again. Trump has already talked about making Canada the 51st state of America and has also given controversial statements regarding Greenland. Meanwhile, in response to Trump’s threat, PM Carney has talked about taking forward the Buy Canadian policy. He said Canada should focus on buying goods made in its own country, strengthening local industries and becoming self-reliant.
Carney shared a video on Twitter saying Canadians should spend their money on Canadian companies and workers. He said that the government is also working in this direction now. In view of these circumstances, Canada now wants to be less dependent on America. Canada has targeted to increase its exports to China by 50 percent by 2030. PM Carney said that in the coming years, Canada will increase trade with countries other than America. There is news that he may also visit India soon.
