Major action by Pak Army in Balochistan, 15 militants killed

Pakistani security forces have killed 15 insurgents in two separate operations in Balochistan province. The media wing of the army (ISPR) gave this information on Saturday. These operations were carried out on Thursday after receiving intelligence information. The first operation took place in Harnai district. Here the army attacked the base of Khawarij. 12 rebels were killed after a fierce encounter. The Government of Pakistan has named the banned organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as ‘Fitna al-Khawarij’ in the year 2024. The name is a reference to a violent group in history. The second operation was conducted in Basima district. Here the army detected the presence of terrorists and attacked them. Three more terrorists were killed in this heavy firing. The army has recovered a huge quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives from the slain terrorists. There has been unrest in Balochistan for a long time. Here terrorists often target security forces and government buildings. The Pakistan government holds organizations like Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and TTP responsible for these attacks.

Heavy rain wreaks havoc in Kenya’s capital Nairobi, 8 dead

The torrential rains that have been lashing Kenya’s capital Nairobi since Friday night have caused huge devastation. So far eight people have died in this disaster. According to police chief George Seda, among the dead, six people drowned and two died due to electric shock. Relief and rescue operations are still going on. However, the death toll is likely to increase. More than 100 vehicles have broken down due to waist-deep water on the roads. Kenya Airways has stopped its flights and some planes have been diverted towards Mombasa city. In view of the situation, the government has deployed the army to help emergency services. The toll road operator has also waived the fees charged on the elevated road so that it becomes easier for people to move. Red Cross teams are trying to reach the stranded people, but they are facing a lot of problems due to the poor condition of the roads and traffic. Public Services Minister Geoffrey Ruku is personally monitoring the relief efforts. Local people are blaming the poor drainage system of the city for this flood. The rainy season has started in Kenya since the end of February, which has already caused a lot of damage.
