BNP made a big revelation, the person who returned from London after 17 years can change the election game.

In Bangladesh where election dates have been announced. Elections will be held in the country on 12 February. Meanwhile, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), the biggest party emerging in the country till now, has taken a big step. The health of the country’s former PM and party president Khaleda Zia is deteriorating. Meanwhile, BNP has announced that Khaleda Zia’s son and party’s working president Tariq Rahman will return to Dhaka on December 25. He lived in self-exile in London for 17 years.

With this, now after 17 years, he is going to return to Bangladesh on 25th December due to elections. This announcement has been made by the party at a time when Khaleda Zia’s health has seriously deteriorated and the political atmosphere remains tense. BNP General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that this decision was taken in the party’s Standing Committee meeting.

Khaleda Zia’s health deteriorated

He said, we are happy to announce that our acting president Tariq Rahman will return to Dhaka on December 25. Alamgir further said that the party welcomes him. Former Bangladesh PM Khaleda Zia, 80, is admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka since November 23. She is suffering from many diseases. On Thursday he was put on ventilator support.

In a detailed statement, the head of her medical board, cardiologist Shahabuddin Talukdar, said that the oxygen level in Jiah’s body suddenly dropped and the carbon dioxide level increased. He experienced increased difficulty in breathing, oxygen levels fell and carbon dioxide levels increased, the statement said.

Why are you returning to India?

Rehman has been active as the party’s de facto leader from abroad for a long time and has been coordinating the strategy through online platforms. BNP leaders said, due to unclear reasons he has not been able to return to his country and be with his ailing mother.

Rahman’s withdrawal has been announced a day after the Election Commission of Bangladesh confirmed that the 13th parliamentary election will be held on February 12. BNP has indicated that if Khaleda Zia is not in a position to take up political responsibilities, Rehman will be made the prime ministerial candidate if the party comes to power.

As soon as Sheikh Hasina came to power in 2008, Tariq Rehman moved to London with his family. Many serious cases were registered against Tariq in the Hasina government. For this reason Tariq was living in London only.

PM is at the forefront of the race

Tariq Rehman can emerge as a big face in the PM race. BNP seems to be getting the lead in the surveys being conducted in the country. BNP leader Tariq Rehman is leading in the race for PM. In all the surveys that have come so far in Bangladesh, BNP seems to be getting the lead.

If the survey turns into a result then Tariq can become the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. Before this, in the year 2001, Tariq’s mother was appointed the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for the last time. Since then Tariq’s family is away from power. In the meantime, if Tariq comes to Bangladesh and goes among the people. If the strategy is decided then the party is expected to get significant benefits from it.
