India’s history at Oscars was like this, these artists won ‘The Golden Boy’ trophy

The 98th edition of the film industry’s most important Oscar Award will be held on March 15. Indian actress Priyanka Chopra will also attend this award ceremony to be held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles as a presenter. This is a big achievement for India. This awards ceremony can be seen in India from around 4:30 am on March 16. Do you know how India’s history has been in the Oscars so far and which Indian artists have won this award so far?

No Indian film got Oscar

Oscar Award is also called Academy Award. These were started in the year 1927, but the first award was held in 1929. In the history of 98 years, more than 50 films were sent from India for the Oscar Award, but not a single Indian film could get this award. For the first time in the year 1957, Mehboob Khan’s film ‘Mother India’ was sent from India for the Oscar. But the film lagged behind Hollywood film ‘Nights of Cabiria’ by just one vote and missed out on winning the award. After this, ‘Salaam Bombay’ in 1989, ‘Lagaan’ in 2003 and Marathi film ‘Shwaas’ in 2004 got the final nomination, but all three films could not win the award.

Only 9 Indians got Oscar

There have been 13 artists from India who have received Oscar nominations so far. Of these, there are only nine Indian artists who have received Oscar Awards. These include the names of Bhanu Athaiya, Satyajit Ray, AR Rahman, Gulzar, Resul Pookutty, MM Keeravani, Chandrabose, Guneet Monga and Kartiki Gonsalves.

Priyanka Chopra will become a presenter

This time’s Oscar is even more special for Indian fans. This time global star Priyanka Chopra will be seen as a presenter at this event. She will be seen giving awards to the winners on stage. Along with them, big Hollywood stars like Robert Downey Jr. and Anne Hathaway will also be seen on the stage, due to which this year’s show is expected to be even more glamorous.
