Body of Indian student found in America, had gone missing 6 days ago

Indian Student Death In USA: Saket Srinivasiah, a student of Indian origin, went missing in America on February 9, whose body was recovered on Sunday. After the disappearance of the student, the family members were in distress and crying. There were calls for help everywhere, but finally his body was found. This was confirmed by the Indian Consulate in San Francisco on Sunday. The embassy has said that the mortal remains should be sent to India as soon as possible.

  • The Indian Consulate has confirmed the death of the missing youth on social media platform ‘X’. “The Consulate deeply regrets to inform that the local police have confirmed that the body of missing Indian student Saket Srinivasaiah has been recovered. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time,” it wrote on ‘X’.
  • The Consulate stands ready to provide all necessary assistance to the family, including coordination with local authorities and making arrangements for repatriation of the mortal remains to India at the earliest. “Our consular officers are in direct contact with the family and will support them with all necessary formalities and services.”

Degree was to be completed in May 2026

Saket Srinivasaiah studied in the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department at the University of California Berkeley, his degree was to be completed in May 2026, but he died before that. He was originally an Indian. Saket Srinivasiah, a resident of Karnataka, has earlier obtained an undergraduate degree from IIT Madras. As soon as the news of Saket Srinivasaiah’s death was received, the family members were inconsolable, they were crying and crying.

Last spoke to family on 9th February

According to media reports, Saket Srinivasiah was last seen near Tilden Regional Park in California. Saket’s father told that the last time they talked was on 9th February. There was no contact after this. Contacted his friends and roommates, but no information was available. After this a complaint was lodged with the Berkeley Police Department. Today on Sunday, it has been confirmed that Saket’s body was found.
