Explosion outside US Embassy in Norway, entrance of building damaged

Oslo. A massive explosion outside the US Embassy in Norway’s capital Oslo has alerted security agencies. The explosion occurred outside the consular section of the US Embassy early Sunday morning, damaging the building’s entrance and sending smoke across the area. However, there is no news of anyone being injured in this incident.
According to media reports, Oslo Police say that in the initial investigation it could be a deliberate attack. According to the report, the head of the investigation unit, Frode Larsen, said that considering the current international situation, this attack could have been directly targeting the US Embassy. Police did not rule out the possibility of a terrorist attack. No suspect has been identified yet, the police is searching for the attackers. The US State Department also confirmed the incident and said that the matter is being investigated and the Norwegian government is fully cooperating in the investigation.
This blast has happened at a time when Iran is being continuously attacked by America and Israel and tension is at its peak in the entire West Asia. Iran has already targeted US military bases and allied countries in the region. It has been believed earlier also that in the event of an attack, even if Iran does not attack Europe directly, its supporters or proxy groups can target American institutions in different parts of the world. For this reason, this blast is also being linked to the America-Iran war.
According to the report, the White House claims that Iran-backed groups have targeted US bases and embassies around the world in the last several decades. In 1983, 17 Americans were killed in a car bomb attack on the US Embassy in Beirut. In the same year, 241 American soldiers were killed in a truck bomb blast at the American Marine base in Lebanon. In recent years, Iran-backed militias have also been accused of attacks on US targets in Iraq, Syria and Jordan.
