
Gold prices in the country have once again caught the attention of investors and common buyers. In the last week of December, gold has remained strong and is trading at new record levels. According to the latest data of Indian Bullion and Jewelers Association, the price of 24 carat gold has increased to Rs 1,37,956 per 10 grams. Since the bullion market remains closed on Saturday and Sunday, the same price will be valid on both the days.
The price of 24 carat gold including all taxes has reached a new record level of Rs 1,42,300 per 10 grams in Delhi bullion market. This is considered to be the highest level till date. Gold has also shown strength in the international markets and spot gold has reached a new all-time high of $ 4,530.42 per ounce.
Gold movement on Multi Commodity Exchange
Gold has also created history in the domestic futures market. For the first time on the Multi Commodity Exchange, the price of gold has crossed the figure of Rs 1.39 lakh per 10 grams. Gold for February delivery registered a rise for the fourth consecutive session and the price reached a new high of Rs 1,39,216 per 10 grams. This rise reflects the increasing demand of investors for safe investments.

Gold prices today in major cities of India
There is a slight difference in the prices of gold in different cities of the country.
- 24 carat gold in delhi Rs 141370 and 22 carat gold is Rs 129600 per 10 grams.
- 24 carat in Mumbai and Kolkata Gold is priced at Rs 141220 and 22 carat gold is priced at Rs 129450 per 10 grams.
- 24 carat gold in Chennai Rs 141820 And 22 carat gold is at Rs 130000 per 10 grams.
- 24 carat gold in patna Rs 141270 and 22 carat gold has been recorded at Rs 129500 per 10 grams.
Prices remain almost the same in Lucknow, Ayodhya, Meerut, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Noida and Gurgaon.
Last trading day’s prices
There was a tremendous rise in gold prices in the last trading session also. In Delhi bullion market, the price of gold of 99.9 percent purity had increased by Rs 1500 to Rs 1,42,300 per 10 grams. Earlier it had closed at Rs 1,40,800 per 10 grams.
So far in the year 2025, gold has given excellent returns to investors. While on December 31, 2024, the price of gold was Rs 78,950 per 10 grams, now it has increased to Rs 1,42,300. That means an increase of more than 80 percent has been recorded.
