Iran’s opposition leaders prepare blue print, insist on restarting Chabahar Port

Washington. Iran’s opposition leaders have prepared a blue print, which includes a proposal to restart the Chabahar port project with India. India is one of the fastest growing large energy markets in the world. In such a situation, in the blue print issued by the opposition leaders of Iran, it has also been talked about resuming the export of crude oil to India for a long time. This proposal is in the Emergency Phase Booklet of the Iran Prosperity Project.
According to media reports, the proposal also talks about how a transitional government can stabilize Iran’s economy and foreign policy in the first six months after the fall of a government. In this 178-page proposal, India has been described as an important economic and strategic partner in Iran’s future foreign policy. The purpose of this proposal is to re-establish trade links and attract international investment after years of ban and isolation.
Under this plan, Iran will resume cooperation with New Delhi on the development of Chabahar Port on the south-eastern coast of the country. Along with this, there is a plan to develop it as a commercial hub connecting the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean with Central Asia. For India, this port has long been seen as a strategic gateway to Afghanistan and the larger Central Asian region, bypassing Pakistan.
According to the blue print, Iran is also planning to focus on improving relations with big global powers like China and Russia. At the same time, a balance will be maintained between economic partnership and national sovereignty. The documents said Iran’s incoming leadership will review the existing strategic agreements with the two countries as well as continue cooperation based on transparency and mutual interests. The blueprint also proposes to enhance engagement with neighboring countries, including Pakistan, especially in areas such as security, counterterrorism cooperation and preventing cross-border extremist activities. Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi has lived in America in exile since 1978. Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi is the son of the last king of Iran.
Iran’s geographical location is between the Persian Gulf, the Indian Ocean and Central Asia. When sanctions are lifted from Iran and international relations normalize, the country’s geographical location could allow the country to become a major commercial crossroads. India has already invested more than Rs 12 crore in developing the Shahid Beheshti Terminal at Chabahar Port. This is part of a long-standing effort to expand trade routes connecting India with Afghanistan and Eurasia. The plan to reopen Chabahar and restart energy trade with India would signal a large-scale reopening of Iran’s economy and its return to global commerce after decades of isolation.
