The accident occurred near the Adamuz area of Cordoba province in Spain, where a high-speed Irio train going from Málaga to Madrid derailed and collided with another train. According to eyewitnesses, the collision was so strong that the shock felt like an earthquake. In the video surfaced on social media, many coaches are seen badly damaged. Passengers said they had to break windows to get out, resulting in injuries to several people. Some compartments were filled with smoke. Spain’s rail infrastructure agency ADIF has temporarily suspended all rail services between Madrid and Andalusia. Red Cross and emergency services are engaged in relief and rescue operations. Investigation into the cause of the accident has been started.
