Washington. America has seized a very large crude oil tanker in the middle of the sea near the coast of Venezuela. On Wednesday, US Attorney General Pam Bondi released a 45-second video of this operation on social media. In the video, two military helicopters fly high over the sea and surround a tanker. Many commandos from them descend on the deck of the tanker with the help of ropes and take control of the tanker within a few minutes.
US President Donald Trump also confirmed the seizure at the White House. On the other hand, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has strongly condemned this action, calling it piracy and open theft. Trump said that we have seized a tanker off the coast of Venezuela, a very large tanker, probably the largest ever. When asked what would happen to the millions of barrels of oil loaded in the ship, Trump smiled and replied, “I think so.”
Attorney General Bondy said the ship had been on the US sanctions list for several years because it was illegally carrying prohibited oil from Venezuela and Iran. Foreign terrorist organizations were being helped with the income from this oil. At the same time, three American officials, on the condition of anonymity, said that the ship was carrying Venezuelan oil. There was no opposition from the ship’s crew to the military operation and no one was harmed in the operation. Bondi described it as a completely safe and successful operation and said that such operations will continue in future to break the hidden network smuggling of contraband oil.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said that America wants to take over their oil. Since September, the US has carried out more than 22 attacks in the Caribbean Sea, in which more than 80 people were killed. America claims that drugs are smuggled in Venezuelan boats. Although America never provided proof of this.
