PM Modi reaches Jordan’s capital, talks will be held on trade, investment and strategic cooperation

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on an important tour of three countries from today, PM Modi reached Jordan as the first stop of his visit. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this visit is going to give new strength to India’s relations with West Asia and Africa. There will be intensive talks during this period on trade, investment, strategic cooperation and regional issues.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was formally welcomed upon reaching Amman, the capital of Jordan. Jordanian Prime Minister Jafar Hassan welcomed him at the airport. This visit of Prime Minister Modi is taking place at a time when geopolitical instability has increased at the global level. India wants to advance political, economic and diplomatic cooperation with its trusted partners through this visit. The special thing is that this will be PM Modi’s first full bilateral visit to Jordan and Ethiopia, while this is his second visit to Oman.

PM Modi will hold one-on-one talks with King Abdullah II in Jordan. After this there will be delegation level talks. As India and Jordan are completing 75 years of diplomatic relations, this visit is being considered special. The focus will be on trade, investment and political cooperation between the two countries.

On the second day of the visit, Prime Minister Modi and King Abdullah will address the India-Jordan trade event. Prominent businessmen of both the countries will participate in it. Apart from this, PM Modi will also meet the Indian community settled in Jordan. Along with the Crown Prince, he will visit the city of Petra, which has been a symbol of ancient trade relations with India.

After Jordan, Prime Minister Modi will be on a state visit to Ethiopia from 16 to 17 December. This will be his first visit to Ethiopia. Here he will meet Prime Minister Abi Ahmed Ali. All aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries will be discussed. The Indian Prime Minister will also address a joint session of the Ethiopian Parliament.

Several MoUs are likely to be signed during the visit to Ethiopia. India wants to strengthen its role as a long-term and reliable partner in Africa through this visit. Africa’s priorities and global issues will also be considered under Agenda 2063. Dialogue with the Indian community will also be an important part of this journey.

In the last leg of the tour, Prime Minister Modi will visit Oman from 17 to 18 December. This will be his second visit to Oman. India and Oman are completing 70 years of diplomatic relations. During this period, special attention will be paid to India-Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. It is believed that this agreement will give a new direction to the trade and investment of both the countries.
