Kathmandu. Protests against the killing of Hindus in Bangladesh were held in big cities like Birgunj, Janakpurdham and Golbazar in Nepal. At the same time, Muslims also took out a rally and raised slogans of Yunus Murdabad. The violence against minority Hindus in Bangladesh is now creating huge anger in neighboring countries as well. The main reason for these demonstrations is the recent killings of Hindus in Bangladesh, which have raised questions on the status of human rights at the international level. On December 18, 25 year old Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das was mob lynched. Late on Wednesday night, Amrit Mandal alias Samrat was also beaten to death by the mob.
These killings have created widespread concerns about the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, the influence of fundamentalists has increased significantly during the tenure of the interim government formed under the leadership of Mohammad Yunus after the overthrow of the democratically elected Sheikh Hasina government in August 2024. Hindu rights group Rashtriya Ekta Abhiyan in Nepal protested in Golbazar area of Sirha district against the violence targeting Hindus in Bangladesh. The protesters blocked the East-West Highway. The protesters raised slogans like stop killing Hindus, ensure safety of minorities and respect human rights.
Muslims also took out a rally against the atrocities on Hindus
