This ‘dancing missile’ of Iran which has wreaked havoc in Israel

Tehran. On one hand, America and Iran are about to come to the negotiating table, but before this, America has given an open threat to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Trump has already launched his warships into the sea, while now he is openly threatening that Iran needs to be worried. This threat of America is regarding Iran’s nuclear program, which America had claimed to destroy in June last year. However, Iran repeatedly maintained that its nuclear program was not harmed. However, Iran also has many arrows in its quiver, which if used, can give a tough competition to American advanced technology. One such Iranian weapon is its ‘dancing missile’, whose havoc Israel has seen in the short 12-day war. This missile had launched a circling attack on Israel’s capital Tel Aviv.
The name of Iranian Sejil missile came into discussion in June 2025, when this missile wreaked havoc. This is a medium range ballistic missile, which runs on solid fuel and this missile can be launched rapidly. This is the second generation missile of the Sejil missile family. As the name suggests, the updated version is even more powerful and accurate. The range of this missile is about 2000–2500 kilometers, which means it can directly target countries like Israel from Iran. It is very difficult to intercept this missile because it is expert in dodging the enemy’s radar system.
Iran’s Sejil-2 is a medium-range ballistic missile, which is two-stage and based on solid fuel. It can carry a warhead of up to 700 kg. According to the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the Segil missile is about 18 meters long, 1.25 meters wide and weighs about 23600 kg.
The biggest feature of Sejil-2 is its solid fuel. This makes preparation for launch of this missile much faster, which makes it more effective than the older liquid fueled Shahab missiles. The first test of this missile was done in the year 2008, in which it went to a distance of about 800 kilometers. This was followed by a second test in May 2009, in which its guidance and navigation systems were tested.
The 59 feet long missile can carry a payload of 7 quintals, but the specialty of this missile is the way it is used there. It is called dancing missile because it is highly manoeuvrable. This Sajil missile not only shows speed to hit its target but also hits in a rotating manner.
