Trump gives 10-day warning to Iran, says ‘something big’ will happen if deal is not made

Washington. US President Donald Trump has taken a tough stance amid the ongoing tension with Iran, saying that if no meaningful agreement is reached in the next 10 days, the situation could become serious. He warned in clear words that if there is no deal, bad things will happen and America can take strict measures.
President Trump made this statement during the Board of Peace program organized in Washington. He said talks were ongoing with Iranian representatives and that the talks so far had been “constructive.” However, he also acknowledged that history shows that reaching a solid and effective agreement with Iran is not easy.
Mention of American negotiators
President Trump referred to US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, saying both are leading indirect talks with Iran. According to Trump, the atmosphere of their meetings has been positive, but the final consensus is yet to be reached. He said, maybe we can compromise, maybe not. You will know in the next 10 days or so.
Increasing tension and military preparations
This statement of Trump has come at a time when tension between America and Iran is at its peak. According to reports, America has increased its military presence in the Middle East. Aircraft carriers, fighter jets and additional defense systems have been deployed in the area. There are indications in satellite images that Iran is strengthening its nuclear and missile bases. However, Tehran has consistently denied that it is developing nuclear weapons.
Background of the 2015 nuclear deal
It is noteworthy that during his first term, Trump had pulled America out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. This agreement is formally known as JCPOA. Trump said that this agreement is weak and inadequate. Later, during the tenure of former President Joe Biden, an attempt was made to revive this agreement, but no final result was achieved. Both sides described the recent talks in Geneva as positive, although senior US officials say that many major differences still remain.
