However, Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma rejected Rajpal Yadav’s plea for extension of time to surrender. Then last Thursday the actor surrendered in Tihar Jail.

Rajpal Yadav had borrowed approximately Rs 5 crore from a company M/s Murali Projects Private Limited. The company says that Rajpal Yadav gave several checks to return the money, but they all bounced. The company (M/s Murali Projects Private Limited) had filed a check bounce case against Rajpal Yadav. These checks were given for film production, but the money was not received. The lower court convicted Rajpal Yadav and sentenced him to 6 months in jail. The High Court had earlier stayed his sentence for some time, but had kept the condition that he would repay the money to the company. Many promises were made in the court, but Rajpal Yadav did not pay the money again and again. The court said that his behavior is very wrong and he is breaking the trust of the court.
