100 years cinematic journey of RSS

Shatak Movie Review It begins with an important question—do we understand history based only on hearsay or on the basis of facts? The film ‘Shatak’, released on February 20, tries to bring on screen the 100-year journey of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The film shows the journey from its inception in Nagpur on Vijayadashami day in 1925 till today in a simple and straightforward manner.

The story starts with Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. His ideas, struggle and foundation of the organization have been presented in detail. After this Guruji M.S. The era of Golwalkar has been shown, where the focus is seen on organizational expansion. The film also touches upon the role of the Sangh during the freedom struggle, war period and later political era. Leaders like Gandhi, Nehru and Indira Gandhi are mentioned, but the center of the story remains the Sangh.

Director Ashish Mall has kept the theme balanced while avoiding emotional exaggeration. This 1 hour 52 minute film is made with hybrid technology i.e. a combination of AI and real actors. At places it feels like a documentary and the VFX feel a bit artificial, but the information is rich.

Shatak Movie Review In conclusion, it can be said that this film tries to show the continuity of an idea more than propaganda. If you want to understand the history of RSS, this film can be watched. 3 out of 5 stars from me.
