Tension between India and Bangladesh increased further

Dhaka. Tension between India and Bangladesh is continuously increasing. After deciding not to send its team to India for the T20 World Cup, now Bangladesh has also banned the telecast of IPL. The interim government has decided to ban the telecast of IPL. IPL 2026 is to start in March.
The dispute between India and Bangladesh has heated up since the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) asked IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to drop Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the team. The whole controversy started with the exclusion of Mustafizur from IPL. KKR had bought Mustafizur for Rs 9.20 crore in the mini auction last month. But on the instructions of BCCI, KKR dropped this Bangladeshi bowler from the team. There was protest in India over the appointment of Mustafizur and many politicians and storytellers had cornered KKR owner Shahrukh Khan regarding this. Bangladesh is in disarray after the exclusion of Mustafizur.

Bangladesh Ministry of Information and Broadcasting confirmed
Asif Nazrul, Sports Minister of the interim government of Bangladesh, had said that he has requested the Information and Broadcasting Minister of Bangladesh to suspend the telecast of IPL in Bangladesh. A day later, the interim government of Bangladesh decided to suspend the telecast of IPL. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of Bangladesh said, the people of Bangladesh are extremely hurt, sad and angry over the BCCI’s decision to drop Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman from the Kolkata Knight Riders team for the upcoming IPL starting in March. Under these circumstances, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of Bangladesh has informed that the telecast of all IPL matches and related programs in Bangladesh will remain suspended till further orders.

Team will not come to India for T20 World Cup
Earlier, on Sunday, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had clarified that it will not send its team to India for the T20 World Cup to be held next month. He has demanded ICC to hold World Cup matches in Sri Lanka. At present ICC has not taken any decision on BCB’s demand. Bangladesh has to play three of its four league matches in Kolkata and one in Mumbai. Bangladesh’s league matches are against West Indies (February 7), Italy (February 9) and England (February 14) in Kolkata and against Nepal (February 17) in Mumbai. Bangladesh has been placed in Group C along with Italy, Nepal, England and West Indies.
