Singer’s announcement shocked fans
Announcing his retirement, Arijit Singh had written, ‘Hello, Happy New Year everyone. I want to thank you all for the love I have received over the years. You all gave me so much love as a listener. I happily announce that I will no longer be taking up any new assignments as a playback vocalist. I’m finishing it. It was a wonderful journey.

He further wrote, ‘God has been very kind to me. I am a fan of good music and will learn more in the future and do more as a small artist myself. Thanks again for everyone’s support. I still have some pending commitments to complete, I will finish them. So you may get some releases this year. Let me make it clear that I am not quitting making music.

With this, the song ‘Matribhumi’ from Salman Khan’s film ‘Battle of Galwan’ has become the last song sung by Arijit Singh. Information about his future projects has not been made public yet. He will continue performing in live shows and concerts. Will also do independent music production.
