Madras High Court rejects actor Vijay’s petition, the matter is related to tax penalty

Madras High Court has rejected a petition by TVK chief Vijay. In this petition, the actor had challenged the order of the Income Tax Department in which he was directed to pay a fine of Rs 1.50 crore.

Why was Vijay fined?

On Friday, the Madras High Court rejected the writ petition of actor Vijay, in which he had challenged an order of the Income Tax Department. Actually, the Income Tax Department had directed the actor to pay a fine of Rs 1.50 crore. This matter is of the financial year 2015-16. When Vijay was accused of not disclosing his additional income.

Vijay approached the court against the fine

Vijay did not follow the income tax order and did not pay the fine. Instead, the Income Tax Department challenged the penalty order and filed a petition in the year 2022. Justice Senthilkumar Ramamurthy had reserved order on the same writ petition last month.
