Israel is also running a major operation with Iran in Lebanon, where it is fighting the pro-Iranian Hezbollah. The death toll in Lebanon reached 486. Iran launched more attacks on Israel and Gulf countries on Monday, hours after Iranian state TV said Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the country’s late supreme leader and a longtime contender, had been named as his successor. There is no sign of any leniency from Israel and Iran. Meanwhile, Iran’s Security Chief says that as long as the war continues, the Strait of Hormuz will remain unsafe. According to information released by the US Central Command, the US attacked more than 5000 targets in Iran in the first ten days of a comprehensive military operation aimed at dismantling the country’s security infrastructure. Operation Epic Fury began at 1:15 am on February 28, 2026 and involves a wide range of US air, naval and missile systems targeting Iranian military capabilities across the country. US Central Command said that the operation was started on the instructions of the President of America. In this, the forces were assigned the task of attacking sites and places associated with the security apparatus of the Iranian regime. These attacks include long-range bombers such as the B-1 bomber, B-2 stealth bomber and B-52 bomber as well as advanced fighter aircraft such as the F-15, F-16, F-18, F-22 stealth fighter and F-35 stealth fighter.

People heard more than 20 loud explosions in the capital of Iran. Many people ran to safe places. These attacks, which took place around midnight, were the largest air strikes on Tehran since the beginning of the war. For about half an hour, the sound of bombers and fighter planes flying overhead continued. Eyewitnesses reported explosions in the western areas of the city. Electricity was cut in some areas. News of similar blasts in other cities of Iran was also received on social media. Iranian media did not report damage or casualties from the attacks. The IDF detected and destroyed a Hezbollah rocket launcher during an operation in southern Lebanon. During this, a Hezbollah fighter was killed.
