Pakistan carried out deadly airstrike targeting Taliban’s Supreme Leader Akhundzada

Kabul. The ongoing border dispute between Afghanistan and Pakistan has now reached a dangerous and decisive point. A shocking claim has emerged quoting recent security reports and sources that the Pakistan Air Force has carried out a highly accurate and massive air strike at Camp Gecko in Kandahar. The main objective of this attack was to target Haibatullah Akhundzada, the supreme leader of the Afghan Taliban. If this claim is fully confirmed, it will be considered not just a military action, but an event that will shake the geopolitics of the entire South Asia.
This gruesome attack was carried out in the early hours of Friday when, based on intelligence inputs, there were indications that Haibatullah Akhundzada was staying in a highly secured complex of Camp Gecko for the last few weeks. According to initial reports coming from the ground, at least 22 people are reported to have been killed and more than 50 injured in this airstrike. Kandahar, considered the spiritual and operational center of the Taliban leadership, has been under heavy tension and security cordon for the last 48 hours. This attack is being compared to those selected international operations in which a country has directly tried to eliminate the top leadership of another country.
However, the biggest question still remains regarding the status of Akhundzada. According to sources, the airstrike has completely demolished the outer security layers of Camp Gecko, but the current status of the Supreme Leader of Taliban is not yet clear. Security experts say that Haibatullah Akhundzada lives in a very secret and multi-layered security circle. The reports also mention that underground bunkers have been specially constructed for them, which are capable of withstanding heavy air strikes. This is the reason that despite the destruction of the upper buildings, there is still a possibility of their survival. The 22 people killed are believed to be part of the Taliban’s elite internal security squad, which is deployed as the Supreme Leader’s closest bodyguard. This fact confirms that this action of Pakistan was not just to send a message but to directly eliminate the leadership. This strike is being described as the most lethal and direct military action taken by Pakistan in recent years. The Taliban’s response in retaliation to this incident in the coming days will decide the security situation of the entire region.
