Mandapeta, Andhra Pradesh: Access to education begins with awareness, guidance, and community support. Recognizing this need, Smiley Children Society has been actively working at the grassroots level to connect underprivileged families with government educational opportunities. Since its inception on January 19, 2019, the organization has remained dedicated to ensuring that no child is deprived of education due to financial hardship or lack of awareness.
Founded by Prudhvi Moses, Smiley Children Society operates through its headquarters in Mandapeta, East Godavari District, along with branch offices in Angara (East Godavari District) and Pothavaram (West Godavari District). The organization has developed a volunteer-based model that focuses on educational inclusion, child welfare, and long-term community development.
A key initiative undertaken by the society involves identifying children who are not enrolled in school and helping their families navigate the government school admission process. Volunteers regularly visit villages, interact with parents, explain the benefits of formal education, assist with documentation, and coordinate with school authorities to ensure smooth admissions.
The initiative has received recognition from Headmaster Swamy Narayan, who praised the organization’s commitment to increasing school enrollment and acknowledged the leadership of Founder Prudhvi Moses.
“The dedication shown by Smiley Children Society’s volunteers has helped many deserving children enter the education system. Their efforts have strengthened the relationship between schools and local communities while making admissions easier for economically weaker families,” he said.
Beyond school admissions, Smiley Children Society has expanded its educational support through free evening tuition classes conducted in Angara. The program provides academic assistance to students who need additional learning support outside regular school hours. To further assist children from low-income households, the organization also serves free dinner after each tuition session, ensuring that students receive both educational guidance and nutritional support.
Founder Prudhvi Moses believes that meaningful social change begins with empowering children through education.
“Every child deserves an equal opportunity to learn, regardless of their financial background. Our volunteers work with one simple goal—to ensure that education reaches every doorstep. When a child enters school, an entire family’s future begins to change,” he said.
Smiley Children Society also advocates for innovative learning methods in Anganwadi centres and government schools. The organization encourages educators to introduce activity-based teaching techniques that make classrooms more engaging and enjoyable for young learners. As part of this commitment, the society continues to donate educational materials and classroom equipment to institutions adopting child-friendly teaching practices.
As Smiley Children Society continues its journey of community service across Andhra Pradesh, it remains focused on creating lasting educational opportunities through volunteerism, collaboration, and a shared vision of empowering every child with the gift of learning.
