Arun Govil responded to the comparison between his role of Ram and Ranbir Kapoor’s role.

Ramanand Sagar’s famous religious show ‘Ramayana’ was liked a lot. Even today the audience likes this show very much. Not only the show, but its characters are also very popular among the audience. Apart from this, Hindi cinema has brought the epic ‘Ramayana’ on the big screen many times. In these shows, many stars from TV to films played the role of Lord Shri Ram. But Arun Govil was liked the most in the role of Shri Ram. These days, Arun Govil is in the news for playing the role of King Dasharatha in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film ‘Ramayana’. In this movie, Arun will be seen in the role of King Dashrath. Meanwhile, Arun Govil is now in the news for his recent interview. During this, the actor told what comparisons the upcoming ‘Ramayana’ film will have to face.

When people see you, they see God in you

Arun Govil recently gave his interview to PTI. During this, he made it clear that when an image settles deeply in people’s memories, then comparisons are natural. Arun Govil said, ‘When there is a standard set, comparison always happens, and no one should feel bad that I am being compared. I believe that to play a God, you have to look like that. Look is very important. When people look at you, they see God in you, and they think, ‘God can be like this’.’

Who will be in the role again?

Along with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, the cast includes Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Let us tell you that ever since the first look of Ramayana has been revealed, this film is being compared with Ramanand Sagar’s 1987 TV show Ramayana, in which Govil played the role of Lord Rama. Also, comparisons are being made especially regarding Ranbir’s look of Lord Ram. Ramayan is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and DNEG in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The first part of the film is scheduled to release in IMAX worldwide in Diwali 2026, and the second part will follow in Diwali 2027.
