Before watching ‘Border 2’, read the story of ‘Border 1’ here, know how much was earned

‘Border 2’ is the sequel to Sunny Deol’s 1997 war drama film ‘Border’. In such a situation, before watching ‘Border 2’ in theatres, you will have to watch ‘Border 1’. Story of ‘Border 1’

The story of ‘Border 1’ (1997) is based on the ‘Battle of Longewala’ during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. When chances of war appeared, a contingent of 120 Indian soldiers was deployed in Longewala under the leadership of Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri (Sunny Deol). He had come to know from his sources that an entire tank regiment of Pakistan (about 2000-3000 soldiers) was going to attack him that very night. In such a situation, they sought help from the Air Force, but at that time Hunter aircraft could not fly at night, so the soldiers were ordered to guard the post till sunrise the next morning. The Indian soldiers kept the Pakistani army in check with their bravery and intelligence throughout the night and in the morning, Wing Commander M.K. The Air Force, under the leadership of Bajwa (Jackie Shroff), had destroyed the enemy tanks. India had won the war, but many brave soldiers were martyred.

Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri (Sunny Deol) survives till the end of the film and will now be seen playing the lead role in the war shown in ‘Border 2′. Captain Bhairon Singh (Sunil Shetty) and Lieutenant Dharamveer Bhan (Akshay Khanna) are martyred. Wing Commander Anand (Jackie Shroff) remains alive. Whereas Tabu, Pooja Bhatt and the rest of the soldiers’ families who played the roles of civilians remain safe till the end.

How much did ‘Border 1’ earn?

‘Border-1’ was made with a budget of Rs 10 crore. According to Sacnilk report, this film had earned Rs 39.30 crore from the Indian box office in 1997. It collected Rs 64.98 crore from the worldwide box office.
