Indian student dies in Germany, jumps from apartment trying to escape fire; mourning at home

Berlin. An Indian student died in a massive fire in Germany’s capital Berlin on Wednesday night. It is being told that a massive fire broke out in his apartment. While trying to escape the fire and dense smoke, the student jumped from the upper floor of the apartment and suffered head injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital. But he died during treatment. The deceased has been identified as Hrithik Reddy (25), resident of Malkapur village in Jangaon district of Telangana. His family was waiting for his return home on the festival of Sankranti. But this accident happened on the first day of the new year. The house was plunged into mourning after hearing the news of his demise. The family is now shocked by his untimely demise. According to the report, Hrithik Reddy went to Magdeburg, Germany in June 2023 to study MS from Europe University. He graduated from Vagdevi Engineering College in 2022. It is being told that Hrithik postponed his holiday during Dussehra and had planned to return home for Sankranti in the second week of January. Local authorities in Germany are investigating the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, Hrithik’s family and his friends are contacting the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) from Telangana and the Indian Embassy in Germany so that the process of bringing his body back to his home village can be completed quickly. Last month, Sahaja Reddy Udumala (24-year-old woman) of Jangaon district died in a house fire in America. Sahaja Reddy went to America for higher education in 2021. She was living in Albany, New York. According to preliminary information, the fire started from a neighboring building and quickly spread to Sahaj’s house. It was told that she was sleeping at the time of the fire and could not come out.
