India’s alert amid worsening situation: ‘Leave Iran immediately’

The Indian Embassy in Iran has asked all Indian citizens – tourists, businessmen, students etc. to leave the country. The embassy has asked them to leave Iran using available means of transport, including commercial flights. This decision has been taken in view of the changing situation. The Embassy has advised all Indian citizens and PIOs in Iran to exercise caution, and has asked them to stay away from areas where protests or sit-ins are taking place. Citizens have been urged to remain in touch with the Indian Embassy in Iran and keep an eye on local media reports for any new information. The Embassy has urged Indian citizens to keep their immigration documents ready. “All Indian nationals in Iran are requested to keep their travel and immigration documents, including passport and ID, ready with them. They are requested to contact the Indian Embassy for any assistance in this regard,” the advisory said.
