Adani Defense and Aerospace Director Jeet Adani said at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 that AI will change the definition of sovereignty in the times to come. The biggest question before India is whether it will just adopt AI or develop it itself and lead at the global level.

He said that the country will have to decide whether it will import intelligence or create it itself, connect with someone else’s system or develop its own system. According to him, India’s rise is not for dominance, but for building global balance and an inclusive technological framework.
Sovereignty is the basic foundation of modern nationalism
Jeet Adani stressed that inclusion without capability is weakness and capability without sovereignty becomes foreign dependency. He said that energy sovereignty, compute and cloud sovereignty and services sovereignty are the basic foundations of modern nationalism and AI must first become a means of enhancing power for Indian citizens, and not just a means of increasing profits.
Adani Group will invest 100 billion dollars
He also announced that Adani Group will invest $100 billion to build a sovereign and green energy based AI infrastructure platform for the country. According to him, this will not just be a data center expansion, but a major step towards an integrated energy and compute ecosystem with 5 gigawatt capacity and approximately $250 billion, which will strengthen India’s ‘intelligence revolution’.
