Petrol and diesel rates changed again today, know how much the burden on your pocket will increase on Monday.

New Delhi: Every day in India starts not just with sunlight, but with new prices of petrol and diesel. The country’s oil companies release the latest rates at 6 am. These prices have a direct impact on the everyday life of common people. Be it an office employee or a truck driver carrying goods, everyone is affected by these prices.

The prices of petrol and diesel are decided for many reasons. International crude oil prices, position of rupee against dollar and the role of tax are most important in this. This is the reason why sometimes there is hope for relief and sometimes the fear of inflation begins to haunt.

How does the impact of the international market reach India?

UAE has announced a slight cut in fuel prices for February 2026. This indicated that there is some softening in crude oil prices at the international level. However, it is not necessary that its impact be seen immediately and completely in India. India imports a large part of its needs from outside. In such a situation, every small change in the global market affects domestic prices. If crude oil becomes cheaper, people expect relief, but due to taxes and other expenses, this relief often becomes weak by the time it reaches the pocket.

Latest rates of petrol diesel

According to the prices released today, petrol in Delhi remains at Rs 94.77 per liter and diesel at Rs 87.67 per liter. In Mumbai, petrol is being sold at Rs 103.54 and diesel at Rs 90.03 per litre. In Kolkata, petrol is Rs 105.45 and diesel is Rs 92.02 per liter.

In Chennai, the price of petrol has been recorded at Rs 100.84 and diesel at Rs 92.39 per liter. In Ahmedabad, petrol is Rs 94.68 and diesel is Rs 90.35 per liter. In Bangalore, petrol is available at Rs 102.92 and diesel at Rs 90.99 per litre.

In Hyderabad, petrol is Rs 107.50 and diesel is Rs 95.70 per liter. In Jaipur petrol is priced at Rs 104.91 and diesel at Rs 90.38 per litre. In Lucknow, petrol is being sold at Rs 94.69 and diesel at Rs 87.81 per liter.

In Pune, petrol is Rs 103.87 and diesel is Rs 90.40 per liter. In Indore, petrol is priced at Rs 106.81 and diesel at Rs 92.18 per litre. In Patna, petrol is Rs 105.41 and diesel is Rs 91.66 per liter. In Surat, petrol is priced at Rs 94.69 and diesel at Rs 90.38 per liter. In Nashik, petrol is available at Rs 104.50 and diesel at Rs 91.02 per litre.

What effect does it have on the common man?

Petrol and diesel prices do not just affect drivers. Due to their increasing prices, transportation becomes expensive. When the cost of transportation of goods increases, vegetables, fruits and items of daily needs also become expensive. This is the reason why fuel prices shake the budget of every family. When prices remain stable or fall slightly, the common man feels some relief. However, if we look at the current rates, the picture of relief on a large scale is not yet clear.
