Strict action against illegal immigrants in America, 42 including 30 Indian drivers arrested

Washington. Action against illegal immigrants has been intensified in America. In a major action, the US Border Patrol has recently arrested a total of 42 illegal immigrants, including 30 Indian citizens. All these people were living illegally in America and were driving semi trucks with a license to drive commercial vehicles.
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a statement saying that this action was taken in the El Centro sector of California. Between November 23 and December 12, Border Patrol agents stopped vehicles at immigration checkpoints and detained people as part of inter-agency operations. According to officials, all those arrested were driving semi trucks on interstate routes. According to CBP, out of the 42 people arrested, 30 are from India, two from El Salvador, while the rest are citizens of countries like China, Eritrea, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Russia, Somalia, Turkey and Ukraine. After this fact came to light, the US administration has expressed concern about the safety and rules in the commercial transportation sector.
The investigation has also revealed that commercial driver’s licenses were issued to these people by various American states. According to CBP, California issued 31 commercial driver’s licenses, while states like Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington combined issued eight. Officials clarified that the main objective of this inter-agency operation is to enforce strict enforcement of immigration laws, ensure the safety of US highways and maintain regulatory standards in the commercial transportation sector. CBP has indicated that similar and tougher actions against illegal immigrants and rule violations will continue in the future.
