Solar Energy Program Postponed Due to Mayor Office’s Neglect and Administrative Lapses
Sagar, Madhya Pradesh – The Saugor Sustainable Living City and PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana program, launched by UNACCC to promote solar energy and sustainable living, has been postponed.
Program Details:
– Green Revolution: UNACCC’s solar housing program was scheduled to launch on January 22, 2026, at the Municipal City Centre Hall in Sagar city.
– Women Empowerment: The program aimed to provide solar cooking stoves to over 250 women, promoting sustainable living and reducing carbon footprint.
– Economic Empowerment: Women would be able to pursue other activities, increasing household income.
– Solar Awareness Program: UNACCC was set to launch a solar awareness program in small cities of Madhya Pradesh to promote PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
Program Benefits:
– Carbon Footprint Reduction: The program was expected to reduce carbon footprint by approximately 127,800 kg CO2e per year.
– Cost Savings for BPL Women: BPL women were expected to save ₹12,000 annually.
