US Congress member Gill compares Dallas Mall with Pakistan, sparks debate

Washington. US Congress member Brandon Gill, who belongs to US President Donald Trump’s Republican Party, said that going to the local mall there feels as if you are in Pakistan, not Dallas. A debate broke out after this statement. Many users linked his comments to his Indian-origin wife Danielle D’Souza Gill.
Brandon Gill expressed concern in the interview about changing the cultural identity of Dallas. Gill claimed that his constituency compared the Dallas mall to Pakistan. He alleged that mosques were being built near lands that had been with local families for decades. He posted that mass Islamic immigration is destroying the America they know and love.
Brandon Gill’s wife Danielle D’Souza Gill is the daughter of famous Indian-American writer and Trump aide Dinesh D’Souza. Social media users have reacted sharply to Gill’s statement about Pakistan. Many users wrote that Gill is taking the name of Pakistan only to please his Indian-origin wife. One user sarcastically wrote – Gill Saheb has become so accustomed to living in New Delhi that now it has become his nature to hate Pakistan.
This is not the first time this couple is in the news. Some time ago he had a dispute with the newly elected Mayor of New York Zohran Mamdani. Brandon Gill shared a video of Mamdani eating rice with his hands, calling him uncultured and advising him to go back to the third world. Danielle D’Souza Gill, defending her husband, said that she grew up in America and has always used a fork. When people reminded him of his Indian roots, he described himself as a Christian Maga patriot, saying that even his Christian relatives do not eat with hands.
Brandon Gill represents Texas’s 26th congressional district. He is known for his tough anti-immigration stance and campaigns like Sharia-free America since his election in 2024. He also recently introduced a bill imposing a 25-year ban on immigrants from Somalia.
