After this attack, Zelensky called Russian President Vladimir Putin a “man of war”.
According to Zelensky, Russia fired more than 500 drones and more than 40 missiles in this attack. The attack lasted for about 10 hours. Its main targets were Kyiv’s energy facilities and civil infrastructure. During an event in Canada, Zelensky said that we want peace and Putin is a man of war. He accused Putin of trying to prolong the war instead of ending it. Zelensky appealed to the world to take strong steps both on the frontline and in diplomacy to stop Putin.
The attack took place when Zelensky was preparing to meet US President Donald Trump. The meeting is scheduled to be held on Sunday in Mar-a-Lago, Florida. It is expected to discuss peace plan and possible security guarantee of America. Zelensky has also spoken to NATO and European leaders in Canada. After the attack, electricity and heating services were disrupted in many areas of Kiev. Rescue teams started rescuing people trapped under the debris. Fire extinguishing and repair work is going on.
