Pakistan carried out airstrike in Kandahar, created havoc in fuel depot and residential areas.

Kabul. The ongoing tension on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan has now reached a very dangerous point. In a recent development, Pakistani Air Force fighter planes have targeted the fuel depot and residential areas of private airline Kam Air located near Kandahar Airport. This depot is important not only for civilian flights but also supplies fuel to United Nations aircraft. Experts believe that this attack is an attempt to hurt Afghanistan’s logistics system amid the international oil crisis.
According to the official statement issued by the Afghan authorities, Pakistani aircraft have targeted not only strategic targets but also residential areas. Many civilian houses have been completely destroyed in this bombing. The local administration claims that many innocent people including women and children have lost their lives in these attacks. However, in some areas the bombing has also been carried out in empty desert and uninhabited areas. The Taliban government has taken a tough stance on this military action, calling it a brutal aggression. The statement said that carrying out such an attack in the last ten days of the holy month of Ramzan and on the cusp of a major festival like Eid shows the moral emptiness of the Pakistani regime. Calling it a despicable crime, the Afghan spokesperson has warned that this cruelty will not go unanswered and Pakistan will have to bear the brunt of it.
There has been a war-like situation between the two countries for some time now. Earlier, when Pakistan had carried out air strikes in various cities of Afghanistan, it had claimed that the targets were military bases of the Taliban government. On the contrary, the Afghan government has claimed that they had given a befitting reply to the previous air strikes. According to Afghan army figures, 55 Pakistani soldiers were killed in their retaliatory action and they captured 19 military posts along the border. Looking at the current situation, there is huge tension in the border areas and both the armies are deployed on war footing.
