Even after the plane’s wheel fell off in the air, the pilot completed a 10-hour journey over the Atlantic.

London. The mere news of a technical glitch during air travel leaves passengers and crew in a tizzy, but recently an incident occurred over the Atlantic Ocean that surprised even aviation experts. An Airbus A350-1000 plane flying from Las Vegas to London lost its wheel shortly after takeoff and fell down. Despite this major disturbance, the pilot showed wisdom and not only continued the flight but also made the plane land safely after covering a long distance of 10 hours.
The incident occurred on Monday night when the British Airways flight took off from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. As the aircraft began to gain altitude from the runway, a black wheel separated from the rear landing gear and was seen falling down. This hair-raising scene was captured on camera by the people present on the ground, the video of which is now going viral on social media. After the incident, the airport administration and staff held their breath, but the pilot took a bold decision to fly the plane over the Atlantic Ocean. Surprisingly, according to the data, the plane not only managed to land safely but also reached London’s Heathrow Airport about 27 minutes before its scheduled time. As soon as the plane landed safely, the airport staff and passengers heaved a sigh of relief. However, investigation is still going on as to how such a vital part got separated from the aircraft during take-off.
Releasing its official statement on this matter, the airlines said that for them, the safety of passengers is of paramount importance and they are fully cooperating with the aviation authorities in the investigation of this incident. Las Vegas airport authorities have confirmed that the missing tire has been recovered from the runway and that no one was injured in the incident. Giant planes like the Airbus A350-1000 have multiple wheels, which are designed to handle such emergencies, experts say. Even if one wheel comes off, the remaining wheels have the capacity to support the weight of the aircraft during landing. Nevertheless, such a malfunction at the time of takeoff raises big questions on safety standards.
