High-speed train derails and collides with another train, 39 killed, many injured

Madrid. A major train accident has occurred in Spain. On Sunday, a high-speed train derailed, went onto an adjacent track and collided with an oncoming train. There was screaming among the passengers after the accident. At least 39 people died and dozens were injured in this accident. The rear of a Madrid-bound train carrying about 300 passengers derailed near Cordoba in the evening. According to the rail operator, the train collided with another train going from Madrid to the southern Spanish city of Huelva, which was carrying about 200 passengers.
Spain’s transport minister put the death toll at 21. He said rescue teams evacuated all survivors from the train. However, the minister said that the death toll may increase further. He said that the reason for the accident could not be known yet. He also said that the train that derailed was less than four years old. That train belonged to the private company Ireo, while the other train, which was the victim of the accident, belonged to Spain’s public train company Renfe.
Irio issued a statement saying it was deeply saddened by what happened and was working to manage the situation.
According to reports, the rear end of the first train derailed and collided with the second train, causing its first two bogies to derail and fall down a four meter slope. He said that the most damage was done to the front part of the Renfe train. A Spanish journalist who was traveling on a train. Let us tell you that Spain has the largest high-speed rail network in Europe with more than 3,100 kilometers of track. Here trains run at a speed of more than 250 kilometers per hour. This network is a popular, competitively priced and safe means of transportation. Spain’s worst train disaster this century occurred in 2013, when 80 people died when a train derailed in the country’s northwest.
