The Indian Navy is preparing to induct 200 warships to increase its strength. This information was given by Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi on Friday. He said that the Indian Navy aims to include more than 200 ships in its fleet by 2035. Along with this, he said that efforts are being made to develop India as a completely self-reliant force by 2047. There is a plan to include 15 ships in this year i.e. 2026 also. Know what Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi said? The Navy Chief gave this information after the commissioning ceremony of INS Anjadeep at Chennai port on Friday. During this, the Navy Chief said that there are preparations to include about 15 new ships in the year 2026, which will be the largest number of ships included in the Navy’s fleet within a year. Apart from this, 50 ships are being built in shipyards across the country, which is a big step towards indigenization in defense production.

Emphasis on ‘Make in India’

The Navy Chief said, the Navy’s operational capability extends across the Indian Ocean Region and far beyond, with naval units continuously deployed for surveillance, anti-piracy and coordinated patrolling, demonstrating sustained reach and credible operational capability. Apart from this, while emphasizing on Make in India, he said that now there is preparation to adopt self-reliant India not only as a strategic imperative but also as an investment keeping in mind the security of the future.

Construction work of 50 ships started

Admiral Dinesh Tripathi said, 50 ships are being built. By 2035, more than 200 warships will be included in the Indian Navy fleet. Apart from this, we aim to take self-reliance to the component level and create a self-reliant force by 2047.
