Napida. Myanmar’s military junta launched a major attack in Rakhine State on Thursday. Myanmar Army carried out this airstrike targeting the hospital. At least 31 people present in the hospital have been killed in this bombing. Around 70 have been injured. This attack on the hospital located in Mrauk-U city of western Rakhine state, known as the stronghold of the Arakan Army, has happened at a time when the junta has intensified attacks on the rebels. The junta has stepped up its military crackdown ahead of elections starting this month.

At least 18 civilians were killed and 20 were injured in the attack.
Myanmar’s army has announced to hold elections on 28 December. The army says that this step has been taken to end the fighting. Rebel groups, on the other hand, have vowed to stop elections in the areas they control. The army is carrying out air strikes to regain these areas. Let us tell you that civil war has been going on in Myanmar for more than three years. Violence has continued in the country since the 2021 military coup.
