The film got lost because of Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Khanna got a heavy slap

The film got lost because of Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Khanna got a heavy slap

A ‘Dhurandhar’ is heavy on everything… Akshay Khanna has set the whole atmosphere in just 7 days. Although the actor has worked in many films in his career. But the year 2025 proved to be very solid for him. First of all, when he entered ‘Chhawa’ as Aurangzeb. And then now, as Rahman has become a dacoit. But Akshaye Khanna has got many such projects in his career, which could prove to be solid for him.
But for some reason or the other the actor left the film or was removed. Today we will tell you about the occasion when I had to leave the film because of Amitabh Bachchan.

It is about the year 2004. When the film ‘Khaki’ was released in theatres. This action thriller-drama was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Also, the entire film is focused on the campaign of the Indian Police team, in which a terrorist has to be brought back to Mumbai. Akshay Khanna was also going to work in this film. If he had not backed down, all the lead actors in this entire film would have been like this. Whose name starts with the word A. Like- Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar, Atul Kulkarni, Aishwarya Rai. But then why did Akshaye Khanna change his decision due to a slap?

Akshay Khanna left the film because of slap

According to reports, Akshay Kumar was offered a role in the film ‘Khaki’. Which later went to Tusshar Kapoor after he left. But one scene became the reason behind Akshay Khanna leaving the film. With which he did not agree. Actually, in the story, Amitabh Bachchan’s character is forced to slap, and he felt that it was very insulting. He did not want to disrespect any senior actor like this, nor did he want to see it happen.

In fact, it was one of the biggest multistar films of that year. In which there were many big stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai. Whereas, Tusshar Kapoor, Atul Kulkarni, Tanuja, Jayaprada, Prakash Raj, Sabyasachi Chakraborty and Ashwini Kalsekar also worked.

How much did the film earn?

‘Khaki’ was average at the box office, whose budget is said to be around Rs 26 crore. This police thriller had collected 42-70 crores worldwide. It was also included in the top grossing films of that year.
