A large number of armed people entered Balochistan, vandalized government and private banks.

Islamabad. The situation went out of control in Kharan district of Balochistan province of Pakistan when a large number of armed people entered the city and started attacking in different areas. A media report said that according to local officials, the attackers targeted the main police station of Kharan city and vandalized government and private banks. Eyewitnesses said that the attackers were riding on cars and bikes. A senior police officer said no policemen were injured in the attack, but police vehicles and weapons were damaged. The attackers took some weapons with them.
According to the police, the attackers entered the police station and forcibly freed the undertrial prisoners lodged there. After this, some armed people reached the market area of the city, where two to three banks were damaged. However, it is not yet clear whether the attackers succeeded in taking away the cash from the bank or not. Medical Superintendent of Kharan Civil Hospital said that a total of five injured people were brought to the district headquarters hospital. Among these, one youth was shot, while four children were injured by the shrapnel of the explosion. Treatment of all the injured is going on.
Local people say that panic spread in the entire area due to the entry of a large number of armed people into the city. The shutters of shops fell and people hid in their homes. Kharan, which is located about 300 kilometers south-west of Quetta, has long been counted among the areas affected by militancy. Although there have been incidents of sporadic violence in the district before, but for the first time such a large number of armed people have directly entered the city and attacked. After the incident, security agencies have cordoned off the area and started a search operation to find the attackers. At present, no organization has confirmed taking responsibility for the attack from the administration.
