Washington. US Vice President JD Vance has given a sharp reply to the international questions being raised regarding the US action taken against Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela. Vance clearly said that Maduro is not a legitimate head of state under any circumstances, but is a “narco-terrorist” accused in several cases in the US, against whom arrest warrants are issued in US courts. According to Vice President Vance, President Donald Trump had warned Maduro several times and was given an “off-ramp” i.e. a chance to improve. These warnings included demands to stop drug trafficking and return oil allegedly stolen from the US. But Maduro ignored all these warnings. “You can’t live in a mansion in Caracas and get away with the crimes of drug trafficking in America,” Vance said bluntly. He stressed that the Trump administration was clear throughout that if the illegal activities were not stopped, there would be serious consequences.
