Trump said that this refinery to be built at Brownsville port will be one of the cleanest refineries in the world in terms of environment. Announcing this project, Trump specially thanked India and Reliance Industries. Who will build this refinery?
According to the information, a company named ‘America First Refining’ located at Brownsville Port in Texas will develop this project. Industry experts believe that the project could be linked to the refinery plan previously proposed by Element Fuels. In 2024, Element Fuels announced that it has broken ground and obtained the necessary permits to build a refinery with a capacity of approximately 1,60,000 barrels per day. Later the company’s website was linked to America First Refining. However, no formal statement has yet been issued by Reliance Industries and America First Refining on this project.
What did AFR say?
Company America First Refining (AFR) has shared important information regarding the new oil refinery project proposed at Brownsville Port in Texas. The company said in a press release that it had received a nine-figure investment from a global energy company in February. Based on this investment, the valuation of the company has reached ten-figures. According to the press release, AFR has also entered into a binding offtake agreement of 20 years with the same global energy company. Under this agreement, the company will make long-term arrangements to buy, process and distribute energy produced from American shale oil. However, the press release did not mention India’s Reliance Industries nor did it say how much investment would be made by which company in the project. The company also said that the construction work of this new refinery will be started in the second quarter of 2026.
What was the challenge of the American refinery network?
